When an issue author replies after
needs-info, the issue returns to triage but remains assigned to the author:assignTowith an empty user list does not remove assignments. Unassign only the author during that handoff, preserving other assignees.PRs can also remain marked
staleafter work resumes. Clear the label on author updates/comments and on reviews or inline review comments from the author or repository maintainers. Routine non-author bot comments do not clear it, and manually applyingstalestill works. The existing inactivity deadlines are unchanged.
