[WIP] Update Android Tests workflow to install Colima on macOS - #735
Thanks for asking me to work on this. I will get started on it and keep this PR's description up to date as I form a plan and make progress.
Original prompt
Failure: The Android Tests job is failing with "colima: command not found" when running the macOS runner. See job logs (ref: f1491a2) showing the error:
/Users/runner/work/_temp/d395aecf-e556-41af-91d7-37cb50fb8c71.sh: line 1: colima: command not found
Process completed with exit code 127.
Problem: The workflow .github/workflows/androidTests.yml invokes the colima CLI on macOS runners but does not ensure Colima is installed and started. GitHub macOS runners include Homebrew, so we can install Colima at runtime.
Required change: Update .github/workflows/androidTests.yml to install and start Colima on macOS runners before any step that uses it.
Concrete patch (add a new step near the start of the job, before colima is used). Insert the following YAML into the job steps (place it immediately after checkout and before steps that reference colima):
Ensures colima binary is present in PATH on macOS runners and avoids the "command not found" failure.
Starts the Colima VM with reasonable defaults for the Android tests environment.
Notes:
The step is guarded with if: runner.os == 'macOS' to avoid running on Linux/Windows runners.
If the workflow already installs Colima in another place, remove duplicate steps to avoid redundant installs.
Please create a pull request that updates .github/workflows/androidTests.yml with the above change and include a short PR description referencing the failing run (ref: f1491a2) and the error message.
