The README's install section pointed at a nightly.link workflow artifact. Now that the publishing pipeline is in place, that's wrong in two ways:

  • The link rots. Workflow artifacts expire after 7 days, so the documented command breaks any week the repo doesn't get a push.
  • It shipped a different binary than we do. That artifact comes from ghostty-ptyxis.yml, a separate x86_64-only build on the gnome-48 runtime. The remote and the release serve gnome-50 builds for x86_64 and aarch64. Anyone following the README got a build we don't actually publish.

Changes

  • The TunaOS remote becomes the recommended path, and the "available once the tuna-os promotion lands" caveat is gone — the remote is live and serving current builds.
  • The direct-download alternative now points at the rolling tip release: stable URLs across builds, both architectures, with a note that bundles don't auto-update.
  • docs/TUNA_OS_PROMOTION.md: ticks the post-promotion checklist items that are now done and drops the stale nightly.link mention. "Fresh-machine install verified" stays unticked — that hasn't been done.

Testing

  • Both documented URLs verified live: 200 with the complete bundle, byte sizes matching the release asset metadata exactly (16,799,624 x86_64 / 16,001,560 aarch64).
  • The remote's contents were confirmed against tuna-os/docs static/flatpak/index/static: both digests carry Built from cde5a581…, the current ptyxis-port head.
  • prettier --check flags both files as unformatted on HEAD as well as after this change, so they're left alone rather than mixing an unrelated reformat into a docs fix.

Note

ghostty-ptyxis.yml now exists only to feed that nightly.link URL — publish-flatpak.yml supersedes it on every axis (both arches, newer runtime, GHCR, index, release). Removing it looks right but is out of scope here; happy to do it as a follow-up.

The README pointed at a nightly.link artifact from `ghostty-ptyxis.yml`,
which has two problems now that the publishing pipeline is in place:

- Workflow artifacts expire after 7 days, so the documented install
command breaks on any repo that goes a week without a push.
- That workflow builds a separate x86_64-only bundle on the gnome-48
runtime, while the remote and the release serve gnome-50 builds for
both x86_64 and aarch64. Users following the README got a different
binary from the one we actually ship.

The TunaOS remote is live and serving current builds, so drop the
"available once the promotion lands" caveat and make it the recommended
path. The direct-download alternative now points at the rolling `tip`
release, whose URLs are stable across builds and cover both
architectures. Verified both URLs return 200 with the full bundle.

Prettier reports these files as unformatted both before and after this
change, so they are left as-is rather than mixing in a reformat.
