Doctests are not executed when committing #51
Description
Describe the bug
We have Doctests in some of the docstrings which are never executed.
Expected behavior
Doctests should be executed in the Actions pipeline, when all other tests are run as well.

We got exactly one doctest as far as I see in the main branch that could easily be also a unittest/pytest. Do we still want to use doctests or should we refrain from that and refactor that one test?

Totally agree, I just do not see the use case for doc tests so far.
