PR #74 introduced the AttestReference API but was merged directly into main.
Feature work under development should target the next branch, which is the staging area that SPIRE's main consumes via the @next pseudo-version.
This cherry-picks that change onto next so the in-flight SPIRE implementation (spiffe/spire#6915) can pick it up through
go get github.com/spiffe/spire-plugin-sdk@next, and so the eventual release-time cherry-pick into main stays consistent.This is a straight cherry-pick of 1f1f97e with no additional code changes.
