Raise the MCP minimum to 1.30.0 within the existing <2 boundary and re-resolve the runtime lock. Remove the obsolete private SSE test-fixture reset for the newer SSE implementation. The lock also refreshes Starlette (0.47 to 1.8), adds MCP transitive PyJWT/cryptography dependencies, and now selects certifi 2026.10.19. This includes the current certifi trust-store correction. Ruff remains 0.15.21, preserving the lint policy. The SDK lower bound is intentional because the removed SSE workaround is not compatible with the old locked SSE stack.

Refs #34. This is an independent change against current main (86ebf379536cf2b3a07c2007798db02894c51f21); it does not include the other proposed fixes.

Validation:

  • Complete suite in this branch's own frozen Python 3.12 environment: 633 passed; ruff check src tests passes.
  • Registered MCP tools exercised through FastMCP and real HTTP requests against isolated Mealie 3.28.0 and 3.29.0 instances, using synthetic objects. Recipe creation, PUT updates and untouched time values were checked.
  • All seven contributions plus fix: preserve recipe time compatibility with Mealie 3.28 and 3.29 #35 also verified together: 704 tests passed, Ruff clean and the combined native probes pass on both versions.

Fresh Python 3.12 runtime audit: 35 packages, no known findings on 21 October 2026. Rebuild container images to use the new locked runtime; an audit is not a security guarantee.

Structured-duration concise reads and explicit time-text replacement are handled separately by #35, included in the combined verification; this PR does not replace that fix. No broader historical-version compatibility or production deployment is claimed. Prepared with AI assistance and reviewed locally.
