Removing should not cause any impact on current users, as they will simply not be used anymore. Merging this would mean that we are no longer compatible with the current boot firmware in meta-qcom. I'd like for this to go together with the boot firmware update. Can we please have a parallel draft PR for meta-qcom (currently using this qcom-ptool branch) for testing, then after testing we can merge this PR and use it in meta-qcom in a tight lock. |

Related meta-qcom pr migrating to the new boot firmware: qualcomm-linux/meta-qcom#2057 Currently in draft, and unfortunately it is not yet functional to the same level as the previous one, so we should hold this until it is fully working. |
