Happens on the front page
$path = drupal_get_path_alias($_GET['q']);
$_GET['q'] is empty

use something like this
if (drupal_is_front_page()) {
$path = variable_get('site_frontpage', 'node');
}
$normal_path = drupal_get_normal_path($path)

Sorry that I am just now getting to this. Thanks for reporting it!

However, I'm not sure that we want to do a drupal_get_normal_path() as I imagine people will be setting the url inclusion/exclusion filters based on a path's alias.

What about making sure we call drupal_init_path() first?
