Bring the hosting details page and the rest of the site up to date after the move to Oregon's State Data Center. Much of what the site described is hardware, software and numbers that are years out of date.

The hosting details page still described the donated Facebook OpenCompute racks, an Ocata OpenStack cluster, Munin, an 11 TB mirror network and a secondary data center in Corvallis. A site-wide review then found stale numbers and dead links elsewhere. The home and About pages quoted 160 projects and 430 TB a month, the donate FAQ showed FY2019 finances, and several IBM and course links returned 404. Each claim was checked against chef-repo, knife, Prometheus or the live sites before it went in. Items that only Lance could confirm (policies, retention, co-location costs) were confirmed directly. Start with content/services/hosting/details.md, which is rewritten top to bottom.

  • Rewrite the hosting details page for the current OpenStack, Ganeti, continuous integration, mirror, email, web, database, co-location, monitoring and backup services
  • Add Community Services, Object Storage and DNS Hosting sections for services we already run but never listed
  • Fix the hosting index and policy page, which still mentioned "carrier-grade facilities" and had a broken opensource.org link
  • Add the OpenPOWER Foundation, Nura (formerly postmarketOS) and U-Boot to the hosted projects list
  • Update the project count, monthly transfer, budget, student count, sponsor years and hardware wishlist on the home, About and donate pages
  • Tell donors to search for the OSU Open Source Lab Fund, which is how the Foundation form lists it now
  • Remove the GSoC page, say CS312 is now taught by other EECS staff, and mark DevOps Bootcamp as a past program
  • Rewrite the POWER intro and the services overview, and add an IBM Z section to the overview
  • Replace dead IBM links and point GPU requests to the OpenPOWER Foundation HUB
  • Drop the old CQLS GPU project list from the POWER projects
  • Limit the POWER CI form to the Debian and Ubuntu images that osl-jenkins actually provides
  • Tag FreeBSD, PostgreSQL, OpenWrt and the OpenPOWER Foundation as co-location, and drop ci-cd from OpenWrt because that tag now means the shared runners only

The remaining ci-cd and co-location tags in data/projects/hosted.yml and the stale POWER tenant list are left for a separate review.

The hosting details page still described the Facebook OCP racks, an Ocata
OpenStack cluster, Munin, a secondary data center in Corvallis and an 11 TB
mirror network. Most of that hardware and software is gone after the move to
the State Data Center, so rewrite each section against what Chef, Prometheus
and the cookbooks show is running today.

- Replace the OCP CI/CD hardware with the Inspur NE5260M5 servers that run the
shared GitLab runners and x86_64 OpenStack compute
- Describe the three OpenStack clusters, their Ceph storage and NVMe nodes, and
link the POWER and AArch64 development programs
- Update Ganeti, FTP mirroring (including ftp2), mail relaying, Mailman, web
hosting, databases, co-location, monitoring and backups
- Add Community Services, Object Storage and DNS Hosting sections for services
we already run but never listed
- Link the hosting policy and request form from the intro so readers know how
  to apply
- Update the ci-cd row on the projects page to match the new CI/CD offering

The hosting index still described "carrier-grade facilities" from before the
move to the State Data Center, and both it and the policy page had a broken
opensource.org link. The donate FAQ also listed data center space among the
things the University provides.

- Name the State Data Center on the hosting index in place of the vague
  "carrier-grade facilities" line
- Fix the opensource.org links on the hosting index and policy page, which had
the trailing period inside the URL
- Point the policy page at the hosting details page and list object storage
  among the other services
- Drop "data center space" from what the University provides, since
colocation in the State Data Center is now a recurring cost

The hosting details page names these as managed projects, but none of them
appeared on the hosted projects list.

- Add the OpenPOWER Foundation with co-location for its hardware, and vm and
  webapp for its services stack
- Add Nura, noting its former postmarketOS name, and U-Boot with vm for their
  managed GitLab hosts

A site-wide review found the home and About pages still quoting 160 hosted
projects and 430 TB a month, well below the 311 projects in hosted.yml and the
measured 1,500+ TB in stats.yml. The donate pages still showed FY2019 finances
and a 2017-era hardware wishlist.

- Update project and transfer figures on the home, About and staff bio text,
and name current projects instead of Apache and the Linux Foundation
- Replace the FY2019 charts and figures with the 2025 budget breakdown and add
  the new colocation cost
- Tell donors to search for the OSU Open Source Lab Fund, which is how the
  Foundation form lists it now
- Set the student count to five and mark DevOps Bootcamp as a past event
- Refresh the donate page mirror, POWER and sub-project counts, add IBM Z and
RISC-V International, and drop Travis CI and the postmarketOS name
- Replace the hardware wishlist with current storage and mirror needs
- Move the sponsors page to fiscal years 2025 and 2026

The OSL stopped taking part in Google Summer of Code after 2016, and CS312 is
now taught by other EECS staff, but the student pages still presented both as
current OSL programs.

- Remove the GSoC page and its link from the Education page
- Rewrite the CS312 overview to say EECS teaches it now and link the current
catalog entry, replacing the dead catalog and Drupal-era tarball links
- Mark DevOps Bootcamp as a past program on the Education page

The services overview still used the PowerLinux brand and had no IBM Z
section, several IBM links now 404 or land on generic pages, and the POWER
project list carried 33 GPU projects that CQLS hosted years ago.

- Rewrite the services overview for POWER9/POWER10 OpenStack and POWER CI, and
add an IBM Z CI section
- Rewrite the POWER intro around current hardware and projects, dropping the
2016-era partner list and PowerLinux branding
- Replace dead IBM links with ibm.com/power, LinuxONE and the Linux on Systems
docs, and stop pointing IBM Z users at Linux on Power resources
- Say POWER CI builds run in Docker and limit the request form to the Debian
and Ubuntu images osl-jenkins actually provides
- Describe the GPU systems as the OpenPOWER Foundation HUB and drop the old
CQLS GPU project list, since new GPU work goes through the HUB
- Mark GMP and Nettle current again, since both still run POWER instances
- Link the OpenPOWER Foundation and its HUB through openpowerfoundation.org
- Rename Marist College to Marist University, and drop the outdated CGRB credit
from the POWER CI GPU question
- Fix the Open-CE current release anchor, the 1.5.1 release year and the x86
RHEL label, plus broken Wikipedia, Ampere and eMAG links

FreeBSD and PostgreSQL are among the co-located projects named on the hosting
details page and in the data center migration post, but hosted.yml only tagged
them powerpc. OpenWrt carried ci-cd, which now means the shared runners, though
it uses dedicated servers.

- Tag FreeBSD and PostgreSQL as co-location
- Tag OpenWrt as co-location instead of ci-cd
- Change Gentoo-zh's mirror tag to mirroring, the tag the projects page defines
- Fix the "email an email" typo on the form submitted page
- Update the params comment that still called the form key a reCAPTCHA key
