📦 Package Details

Maintainer: @dave-atx

Description:
New package: cloudflare-speed-cli, a client for speed.cloudflare.com with a TUI and plain text / JSON output. It measures loaded latency, packet loss and jitter alongside throughput, so it's useful for checking bufferbloat from the router itself.

It's built with the TUI but without the X11 clipboard (a previous version of this PR included that as a patch, but upstream subsequently merged that in record time 💥). The .apk is about 2.5 MB on aarch64.

🔬 Run Testing Details

  • OpenWrt Version: 25.12.6
  • OpenWrt Target/Subtarget: bcm27xx/bcm2712
  • OpenWrt Device: Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5

✅ Formalities

If your PR contains a patch:

  • It can be applied using git am
  • It has been refreshed to avoid offsets, fuzzes, etc.
  • It is structured in a way that it is potentially upstreamable

I just force pushed a change to exclude platforms that don't have 64-bit atomics since this package needs them, so that should fix those build failures.

Comment thread net/cloudflare-speed-cli/test.sh Resolved
cloudflare-speed-cli is a client for speed.cloudflare.com with a TUI and
plain text / JSON output. Besides throughput it measures loaded latency,
UDP packet loss and jitter, and can run a traceroute to the Cloudflare
edge, which makes it handy for checking bufferbloat from the router.

It's built with the TUI but without the clipboard feature, which pulls
in arboard (X11).

Not available on 32-bit mips / powerpc / ARMv5, which lack the 64-bit
atomics the speed test uses, or on i386, where ring requires SSE2.

Tested on bcm27xx/bcm2712 (Raspberry Pi CM5).

I used Claude Code to help prepare this change.
