Summary

Replace publish_executables and publish_container_images with a single release workflow, following the host-binary + Alpine image pattern used in containerctl/promptd.

  • Build the web console, then Go binaries on the runner (Go 1.27.1 in Actions only; go.mod stays 1.26.2).
  • Images are alpine:3.24 and COPY the prebuilt binary. Server exposes 8080/8443/9443; gateway and handler have no listen port.
  • main republishes the development pre-release by deleting and recreating it (avoids the flaky asset overwrite).
  • Images go to GHCR, Quay, and Docker Hub. Quay/Docker Hub run only on mycontroller-org/server so forks do not fail on missing secrets. GitHub releases also run only on upstream.
  • Multi-arch manifests are assembled after per-arch pushes (provenance/sbom off).

Test plan

  • Merge and confirm release on main is green.
  • Confirm the development tag points at the merge SHA and has new archives.
  • Confirm ghcr.io/mycontroller-org/{server,gateway,handler}:2.3.0-devel (and Quay/Docker Hub) exist as multi-arch images.
  • Confirm a fork run does not try Docker Hub/Quay or create a GitHub release.

Build host binaries in Actions (Go 1.27.1) and copy only those
binaries into Alpine 3.24 images. Publish archives by deleting
and recreating the development tag. Push images to GHCR always,
and to Quay/Docker Hub only from mycontroller-org/server.
