Nemo highlights an unexpected line after duplicating by copy/paste #2707

Open

Description

@Marvodor
  • Nemo 4.6.5, windowed, 64 bit
  • Ubuntu Linux 20.10, Gnome
  • Nvidia Geforce GT 1030, Driver Version 450.102.04

Steps to reproduce

After duplicating a file by pressing ^C ^V the copy is being highlighted in list view. It seems to be the active entry, as it is being opened when you press Enter. But if you use the cursor keys up/down immediately after pasting, the highlighting jumps to the next position relative to the source file of the copying process.

Expected behaviour

The highlighting should move relative to the active, already highlighted file.

Other information

If this has been a design decision, please excuse. I could not find any documentation about this behaviour.

    @LinuxOnTheDesktop

    I am merely another user, but I can replicate this on a Mint PC.

    ('[A]s it is being opened when you press Esc': I think that '' is meant.

    In Nemo 6.4.5 this behaviour still exists. Is it a bug or a feature?
