Setup

npx create-next-app@latest frontend

Run locally

Start the FastAPI backend from the project root:

cd backend
.\.venv\Scripts\activate
uvicorn main:app --reload --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8000

Start the Next.js frontend in a second terminal:

cd frontend
npm install
npm run dev

Open http://localhost:3000 in your browser. The frontend sends uploaded label images to the backend at http://localhost:8000/api/v1/extract-text.

User advisory:

For optimal results, insert only what you would consider to be the "front" or "back" labels of bottle respectively. Other angles can be covered at your own risk.
