The product renamed surfaces to apps, removed the Knowledge page, and retired the @interfere/node and @interfere/nest SDKs. The docs still described the old names, links, and setup steps.

Changes

  • Rename the surface concept to app in prose, titles, the sidebar, and links. API, Terraform, and scope identifiers keep the name surface. The apps, Terraform, authentication, and API keys pages each state this once.
  • Move product/surfaces* to product/apps* and add redirects from the old paths.
  • Replace product/knowledge.mdx with a new Services page and add a redirect.
  • Start OpenTelemetry setup from Services and Set up OpenTelemetry. Each workspace gets the OpenTelemetry connection by default, so the docs no longer show an enable step. The telemetry key scope stays org:telemetry:write.
  • Rewrite the NestJS guide for OpenTelemetry to match the in-app setup steps. Move the Node.js content into sdk/otel-ingestion.mdx and redirect /sdk/node.
  • Add the setup method choice and the MCP path to the quickstart.
  • Remove the Vercel Configuration and Drains tabs and the app Keys tab, because the product removed them.

Validation

bun run format, lint, typecheck, validate, and check:links pass. A local preview loads each changed page, and the old paths redirect.

Product gaps

  • The in-app onboarding text in step-definitions.ts still tells users to enable OpenTelemetry in Connections.
  • Only Cloudflare Workers services can link to an app in the UI.
  • No UI control links a Vercel project to an app.

- Rename the surface concept to app in prose. API, Terraform, and scope
  identifiers keep the name `surface`.
- Move `product/surfaces*` to `product/apps*` and add redirects.
- Replace `product/knowledge.mdx` with a new Services page.
- Start OpenTelemetry setup from Services. The workspace connection
exists by default, so the docs no longer show an enable step.
- Rewrite the NestJS guide for OpenTelemetry. Move the Node.js content
  into `sdk/otel-ingestion.mdx` and redirect `/sdk/node`.
- Add the setup method choice and the MCP path to the quickstart.
- Remove the Vercel tabs and app key tab that the product removed.
