Prevent atom exhaustion from untrusted names and simplify runtime code - #108
Conversation
📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe changes add bounded HTTP node-name admission and prevent multiple request, message, and filter paths from creating atoms for unknown names. They also centralize Docker container listing, update backend configuration serialization, and revise CLI and skills behavior. ChangesNode-name Admission and Safe Name Handling

Suggested reviewers: Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The name-admission changes are ready to merge. One small Docker listing gap remains: pausing a swarm that already has paused containers may try to pause them again and report errors or an inaccurate count. This is a minor follow-up and does not block the merge. Pre-merge checks |

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Filter :running by Docker status.
When a swarm contains a paused container, unfiltered docker ps still lists it. swarm_containers/2 then returns that container for :running, so pause callers attempt to pause it again and can report an inaccurate count. Add --filter status=running for this state. (docs.docker.com)

Agent output and HTTP requests could convert arbitrary names into permanent VM atoms, eventually exhausting the atom table and crashing Genswarms. This PR keeps messages, lookups and filters from creating atoms, while preserving dynamic HTTP node creation through bounded name admission.
Node-name policy
GENSWARMS_MAX_DYNAMIC_NAMESto configure it.GENSWARMS_RESTRICTED_NAMES=truerequires names already present as atoms in the API server VM, including derived replica names. Local/programmatic definitions, operator-controlled config files and their symlink targets, trusted scaling, host kernel field names, persisted host-generated enums/typed Elixir terms and operator CLI arguments may still create atoms. HTTP name admission bounds HTTP-created names; it does not sandbox trusted local Elixir code. Unknown nested request config keys remain strings.
Consumer dependency updates follow after this PR merges.
