Ring option doesn't "ring (no sound)" in vibration/slient mode

Description of issue - activation_command password ring does not make the device ring with sound if its on vibration mode or silent mode. It will only show a big message box with 'ring' written in it. It won't even vibrate if the device is locked in vibration mode.
I am not sure if this a bug or not or what permissions the app must be requesting. I have granted all the permission the app has seemed to ask.
Expected behaviour - Using the option 'ring' should make the device ring (with sound) even if device is in "Do not disturb mode" or vibration mode.

This is the expected behaviour because I couldn't be able to make it ring in silent mode as well, but it's a feature I need to implement.

I think one way to work around this (I think my alarm app works this way) is to disable vibrate/silent/do not disturb, set volume to full, and then ring. Then re-enable when the stop button is pressed.

Unsure how the Android APIs work, but you could possibly also emit this sound as an alarm rather than an app sound. That would bypass most do not disturb settings
