Distinct contact labels can collapse to the same generated interface/network name after shorten_label(). For example, labels high and hi both become hi; for a multi-link pair this produces the same edge key and csv_to_compose.py silently drops the second edge.
The generator should keep the current shortened names when unique, but disambiguate collisions so distinct links remain distinct.
