Description

Adopt consensus-owned full-epoch replay and raw 32-byte Ed25519 authority labels using upstream Sui mainnet-v1.82.3 (bf4073918ed33cfa0b09c500658fa116a774bcfd). All Sui crates, including consensus, use the upstream release without a consensus fork override.

Consensus-core owns storage and replay and sends historical and live commits through the same Ika handler. Start the handler before awaiting consensus startup, acknowledge commits after their folds complete, and observe committed heads, acknowledgements, and replay-target discovery independently. This preserves catch-up visibility during a blocked fold and removes Ika's separate database owner. Authority labels use raw consensus public keys without BLS padding.

Rebase onto current main and retain its stable crypto dependencies, inkrypto revision 8347fd40eb8d95ee6a1f59a0813381b3d81f62c3, and legacy WASM key-recovery support. Digest resolves from crates.io in both workspaces: no digest fork, patch, or vendored source is required. The excluded WASM manifest and lockfile match main.

Align the standalone Sui SDK, FastCrypto, and GraphQL dependency with the release; update all CI Sui binary downloads. Adapt the Move compilation crate name and transaction-verifier signature. Transaction voting, Mysticeti v3, and slim block propagation remain disabled, preserving the existing v7 settings.

Validation

  • Sui version-consistency and whitespace checks pass.
  • The excluded WASM workspace passes its locked release check on wasm32-unknown-unknown.
  • The locked release workspace check passes for all targets.
  • All six protocol-config tests pass, including v7 snapshots.
  • Locked release workspace Clippy passes for all targets and all features with -D warnings.
  • PR CI covers replay and authority-identity regressions.
  • Dispatched integration tests, cluster tests, deployed-release rollout, and malicious-validator negative control at 9016ef0ae18159abba94b5ef13c6684d23f8853b; results pending. These must pass before merge; a fresh-store test alone does not establish existing-store compatibility.

Release notes

  • Protocol and cryptography:
  • Move contracts:
  • Nodes (validators, fullnodes, and notifier): Use Sui mainnet-v1.82.3 with consensus-owned replay, raw consensus-key authority labels, and upstream shutdown/commit-sync recovery fixes. Developers running localnets need the matching Sui binary.
  • CLI:
  • Rust SDK:
  • TypeScript SDK:
  • WASM SDK:
  • Proxy and operator tooling:
