Bug Fixes

  • Console sign-in credentials now authenticate correctly in the submitter. The minimum deadline dependency has been bumped to 0.60.4 (which includes the console extra), and awscrt is now properly bundled, fixing silent authentication failures when using console-based credentials. (fix: require deadline 0.60.4 with the console extra and ship a loadable awscrt #482)
  • License error messages during rendering now include consistent remediation guidance with links to the licensing guide and service quotas page. Previously, some license failures could discard the detected cause; this is now fixed so the specific error context is preserved alongside the new guidance. (fix(maya): Refine license error message #480)

## 0.15.21 (2026-09-23)

### Bug Fixes
* Console sign-in credentials now authenticate correctly in the submitter. The minimum `deadline` dependency has been bumped to 0.60.4 (which includes the `console` extra), and `awscrt` is now properly bundled, fixing silent authentication failures when using console-based credentials. (#482)

This entry reads as though installing this release gets you working console sign-in, but per pyproject.toml that is only true for the installer bundle, not for a pip install.

Two specifics:

  • "bumped to 0.60.4 (which includes the console extra)" — 0.60.4 declares a console extra, but this package deliberately does not request it. The dependency is plain deadline >= 0.60.4,< 0.61 (pyproject.toml:47), and the comment directly above it says "The console extra is deliberately NOT requested here." The parenthetical suggests the extra comes along with the floor bump; it does not.

  • "awscrt is now properly bundled" — awscrt arrives via scripts/deps_bundle.py (NATIVE_DEPENDENCIES, and _add_console_extra requesting deadline[console] at bundle time), which only feeds the submitter installer artifact. The published wheel’s dependency closure has no awscrt.

Net effect: someone who pip install deadline-cloud-for-maya==0.15.21 and then hits the same silent console-auth failure will reasonably believe this release fixed it and that they are seeing a regression. Suggest scoping the claim to the submitter installer, e.g. "the submitter installer now bundles deadline[console] and a loadable awscrt", and dropping the parenthetical implying the extra is pulled in by the floor bump.

Worth confirming against the intent of #482 — if console sign-in is also meant to work for plain pip installs, then the gap is in pyproject.toml rather than in this wording.
