Macros stop tx before completing #112

Description

@alanmimms

I have a zbitx.

I defined a macro TEST TEST DE WB7NAB WB7NAB WB7NAB K and put it on F10. When I hit F10 or click the button on screen it always sends at least a few characters, but quite often it stops before completing the macro sending on CW at 30WPM.

I tried replacing the Raspberry Pi2W with a RPi4B (extender pins for the 40 pin connector makes this possible) and it's a LOT more stable and faster. (I used the very same microSD card on RPi4B). I also use Ethernet with this bigger faster board and that's a great help for latency. I also changed out the LM7805 and replaced it with a 4A buck converter, which saves a bunch of power and the heatsink hardly gets warm now even with FT8 mode and lots of tx.

I have tried this issue directly on a HDMI connected monitor with mouse and keyboard, and with VNC from my Linux box, and via the web interface. All have the same behavior. This issue was observed before I even opened the unit up to make any changes. I'm running the latest commit (July 5, 2025) c671ac8 at the moment and it's biting me quite frequently.

I wonder if this is due to some race condition or missed deadline in the code? I will go dig for it, but I thought I'd start out reporting the bug in case you have a fix or haven't yet heard about it and it's common (at least for me).

This is a great little rig, and I'm grateful to you for building it. I'm a ham, so I have to fiddle with it [smile].
