Introduction

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is the method of uniquely identifying items with the help of Radio Waves. A RFID system consists of a tag, a reader and an antenna at the minimum. There are 2 types of RFID tags (Active and Passive). Active ones are powered by external power source such as battery and passive ones get the energy from the electromagnetic waves transmitted by the reader. Passive RFID tags generally operates in the range of 13.56 MHz. 6 digit employee id is written in the 8th sector of the RFID tag. MIFARE S50 card is used as the RFID tag. The 6 digit employee code is read from the 8th sector when the tag is placed near the reader.
