[Feature] "Open File" dialog should remember latest location on Linux

What feature would you like to see?

The "Open File" dialog always chooses my home folder as the start location.
Instead, I believe it should remember the last location from which I opened a file from.

#715 suggests this is the intended behavior.
(#715 is about remembering a directory per dialog category. For me, nothing is remembered)

How will this feature be useful to you and others?

By not having to navigate to the same location, opening multiple files (with some time in between) will go faster.

On my system, KDE handles this fine both inside and outside of Flatpak.

On GNOME you probably need to run:

gsettings set org.gtk.gtk4.Settings.FileChooser startup-mode cwd
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.privacy remember-recent-files true
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.privacy remember-app-usage true

I don't know if Flatpak respects those settings, however.

Though, implementing #715 would generally fix this universally while being a nicer UX to allow for per-category remembering on macOS and *nix. Only Windows remembers it based on file dialog settings on UWP/WinUI3 file pickers. Everything else only implements a per-application or global path.
