πŸ“€ WordPress Publishing Feature

This app includes one-click WordPress publishing that sends generated content directly to your WordPress site.

🌐 CRITICAL: Live WordPress Site Required

WordPress publishing ONLY works with a LIVE, hosted WordPress site with a real domain name.

βœ… What Works (Recommended for Production):

  • Hosted WordPress on providers like:
    • Bluehost, SiteGround, WP Engine, Kinsta, DreamHost
    • Your own VPS/server
    • Any WordPress with a public URL like https://yourdomain.com

❌ What Does NOT Work:

  • Local WordPress on your laptop (XAMPP, MAMP, LocalWP)
  • localhost or http://ai-wp.local
  • Private networks without public internet access

πŸ€” Why Local WordPress Doesn't Work

When you deploy this app on Vercel (cloud), it runs on Vercel's servers in the cloud. Your local WordPress runs on your laptop. They cannot communicate because:

  1. πŸ”’ Your laptop is not accessible from the internet
  2. 🌐 Vercel servers cannot reach localhost or http://ai-wp.local
  3. πŸ“‘ It's like trying to call a phone that's turned off and disconnected

Think of it this way:

  • Vercel = Office in New York
  • Your Laptop = Office in your home
  • Without a public address, they can't send mail to each other

πŸ”§ What About Ngrok?

Ngrok is a tool that creates a temporary tunnel from the internet to your laptop. It gives your local WordPress a public URL like https://abc123.ngrok-free.app.

⚠️ Why We DON'T Recommend Ngrok for Production:

Problem Impact
❌ URL Changes Every Restart You get a new URL each time. Must update Vercel settings constantly.
❌ Laptop Must Run 24/7 Close your laptop = publishing stops working.
❌ 2-Hour Session Timeout Free tier disconnects every 2 hours.
❌ Browser Warning Pages Ngrok shows security warnings that break API calls.
❌ Complex WordPress Config Must change WordPress site URLs, which can break your local site.
❌ Unreliable Connection drops, timeouts, and errors are common.
❌ Not Professional Temporary URLs look unprofessional to clients.

Bottom Line: Ngrok is ONLY for testing/development, NOT for production or real users.

βœ… The Right Way: Use Live WordPress Hosting

For production use, you MUST have a hosted WordPress site. Here's why this is the professional solution:

Benefit Why It Matters
βœ… Always Available Works 24/7, even when your laptop is off
βœ… Permanent URL Set once, never changes
βœ… 99.9% Uptime Professional hosting with reliability guarantees
βœ… Fast Performance Optimized servers, CDN, caching
βœ… Secure SSL certificates, backups, security updates included
βœ… Simple Setup Configure once, works forever
βœ… Professional Real domain name for your business

πŸ’° Cost of Hosted WordPress

Good news: It's very affordable!

Hosting Type Cost Best For
Shared Hosting $3-10/month Small blogs, startups
Managed WordPress $15-30/month Professional sites, agencies
VPS Hosting $20-50/month High traffic, custom needs

Popular Providers:

  • Bluehost - $2.95/month (beginner-friendly)
  • Hostinger - $2.99/month (budget option)
  • SiteGround - $14.99/month (best performance)
  • WP Engine - $30/month (premium managed)

What's Included:

  • βœ… Domain name (yoursite.com)
  • βœ… WordPress hosting
  • βœ… SSL certificate (HTTPS)
  • βœ… Email accounts
  • βœ… 24/7 support
  • βœ… Automatic backups

  3. Check if security plugin is blocking REST API
