📝 Walkthrough

Adds an Ominiflow integration with authenticated API methods, actions for WhatsApp messages and contact updates, webhook sources for message events, package metadata, and documentation.

Changes: Ominiflow integration

Layer / File(s) Summary
Ominiflow API and package setup
components/ominiflow/ominiflow.app.mjs, components/ominiflow/package.json
Defines template and group selectors, authenticated JSON request helpers, and API methods for account lookup, messaging, contacts, templates, and groups. Adds package metadata and dependencies.
Messaging and contact actions
components/ominiflow/actions/*
Adds actions to send text messages and template messages, and to create or update contacts. The actions return successful responses and throw errors when the response status is "error".
Webhook sources and integration documentation
components/ominiflow/sources/*, components/ominiflow/README.md
Adds webhook sources for incoming messages and outbound message status updates. The sources acknowledge requests and emit events when a request body is present. Documents setup, actions, triggers, and example workflows.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 6a631

Sending a template that exists only in a non-English language may fail or use the wrong language unless the user sets the language manually. Otherwise, the integration is mergeable with this known follow-up.

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 6a631

The new webhook sources do not verify the sender or associate incoming events with the connected account. Their safety therefore depends on upstream protections that could not be confirmed. Outbound operations use a connected account and default HTTPS destination, but custom-host security and failure-recovery guarantees remain unconfirmed.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · inferred: Both new HTTP sources accept payload-declared message identities and emit request bodies without verifying sender authenticity or binding them to the configured Ominiflow account. Unless authentication is enforced before these handlers run, a caller with endpoint access could forge incoming-message or delivery-status events for subscribed workflows. The connected account's outbound Bearer token does not protect this ingress path; deployment-level enforcement remains unverified.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The demonstrated ingress scope is each deployed source endpoint and its event consumers. If upstream authentication is absent, endpoint access could permit forged events that inherit whatever authority subscribed workflows possess. Those consumers and privileges are not identified, so service-wide or cross-tenant compromise is not established. Outbound operations exercise the connected token's authority against the selected host.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — The conditional attack path is endpoint access, followed by a crafted message or status body, payload-derived metadata, and workflow event emission. The handlers provide no authenticity check along this path. Platform ingress enforcement remains unknown, so the deferred security candidate is not promoted to a verified production exploit.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The API helper attaches $auth.api_key as a Bearer header and defaults to a fixed HTTPS Ominiflow host. A configured $auth.base_url replaces that host without local scheme or destination validation, consistent with documented private-instance support. The text action exposes phone and message inputs, not credential or URL overrides; authority to configure authentication fields and transport-level restrictions remains unverified.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Both webhook handlers request HTTP 200 before checking the body, generating metadata or emitting the event. They contain no source-level recovery state coordinating acknowledgement with emission. Durable delivery, interruption recovery and deduplication atomicity therefore depend on platform contracts not established by these definitions.
  • observed — The text action awaits one POST, propagates request rejection, and throws for response.status equal to error. It adds no idempotency key, commit-status recovery or concurrency coordination. Provider and runtime contracts are needed to determine whether interruption followed by repetition can duplicate an externally committed message; no security impact from such duplication is verified here.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Establish an explicit authenticity and account-binding contract for both webhook sources. Use provider-supported signature or secret validation before accepting events, or document an equivalent ingress guarantee that applies before either handler executes. Keep deduplication separate from authentication.
  • proposed — Define the credential-destination policy for custom instances: require authenticated HTTPS destinations and explicitly control who may change base_url relative to the associated API key, while preserving intentional private-host support.

Review comments at @components/ominiflow/ominiflow.app.mjs:
- Line 18: Update the template option value around t.name so selecting a
template also preserves its language, and ensure the selection handling uses
that language for templateLanguage instead of defaulting to English. Keep the
displayed template name and selected template consistent.
- Line 10: Update the descriptions for both lookup props in the Ominiflow app:
include a concrete template-name example and a bold reference to the same-app
template-listing action at components/ominiflow/ominiflow.app.mjs lines 10–10,
and a concrete group-ID example plus bold references to the same-app
group-listing action and its ID field at lines 25–25. Add either listing action
only if it is absent.
- Around line 56-61: Remove the `this.$auth?.api_key` block that adds `token` to
`queryParams` for GET requests or to `payload` for other requests. Keep API-key
transport exclusively in the existing Authorization Bearer header path.

Review comments at @components/ominiflow/README.md:
- Around line 43-50: Update the documentation for the
`ominiflow-new-incoming-message` and `ominiflow-message-status-updated` triggers
to explain that users must copy each trigger’s generated Pipedream HTTP endpoint
into Ominiflow’s webhook settings and subscribe to the corresponding `messages`
or `message_status` event. Link to the Ominiflow webhook guide for setup
details.

Review comments at
@components/ominiflow/sources/message-status-updated/message-status-updated.mjs:
- Line 19: Update the constructed `id` in the message-status event handler to
never exceed 64 characters, including the status suffix, while keeping IDs
deterministic for the same event so deduplication remains stable. Use the
existing `statusEvent` identity as input and bound or hash the result.

Review comments at
@components/ominiflow/sources/new-incoming-message/new-incoming-message.mjs:
- Line 6: Update the descriptions in the new-incoming-message component at
components/ominiflow/sources/new-incoming-message/new-incoming-message.mjs:6-6
and the message-status-updated component at
components/ominiflow/sources/message-status-updated/message-status-updated.mjs:6-6
to end each description with a relevant documentation link in the requested “See
the documentation” format.
- Line 19: In
components/ominiflow/sources/new-incoming-message/new-incoming-message.mjs:19,
replace the Date.now fallback in the message ID derivation with a deterministic
ID for the same real-world event, or explicitly handle messages lacking
sufficient identity. Apply the equivalent fix to the status-event ID derivation
in
components/ominiflow/sources/message-status-updated/message-status-updated.mjs:19
so retries produce stable IDs for deduplication.

Make both lookup props usable by an agent. Neither description gives an example or names a same-app action that supplies the value.

  • components/ominiflow/ominiflow.app.mjs#L10-L10: add a template-name example and a bold reference to a template-listing action; add that action if absent.
  • components/ominiflow/ominiflow.app.mjs#L25-L25: add a group-ID example and a bold reference to a group-listing action and its ID field; add that action if absent.
As per path instructions, lookup props require “a concrete example value” and “the bold tool name of the action in the same app that returns it.”
