Seems like somewhere between dulwich-0.16.3 and 0.19.6 created an issue with our synchronize feature. These may also be caused in conjunction with the gzip settings that is present via the reverse proxy. Relevant traceback:

Downgrading to some earlier version stopped this issue from occurring.
