This repository contains a 5,000-row snapshot of popular RimWorld Steam Workshop mods, deterministic rule-based scope labels, validation reports, a public analysis notebook, and the scripts used to collect and verify the data.
The snapshot was collected on September 7, 2026. It contains 44 columns covering ratings, file size, subscriber and favorite counters, version tags, captured language declarations, public author identifiers, retrieval provenance, and provisional scope labels.

python src/test_workbook.pyThe public verifier checks dataset dimensions and IDs, eight released artifact hashes, 334 published source-response hashes, 668 private-archive member hashes, and 21 maintained source and documentation hashes. When the private archive is available locally, it also checks the archive and every member.

python src/package_release.py ../dist/publicThe release contains the dataset, workbook, notebook, documentation, source code, validation reports, redacted bounded evidence excerpts, and checksum manifests. It excludes full Steam responses and local full-text evidence.
The local raw archive and full-text evidence files are intentionally ignored by Git. Their hashes remain public in RAW_ARCHIVE_SHA256SUMS, RAW_ARCHIVE_MEMBERS_SHA256SUMS, source_manifest.json, and offline_replay_verification.json.
The scope column is a deterministic, provisional machine label. The checks establish repeatability and source fidelity; they do not establish semantic classification accuracy. Rows requiring review are marked in the dataset and public review queue.
The MIT License covers the project software and original documentation. It does not license the dataset's Steam-derived fields or other third-party material. This is an independent research project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve or Steam. Public use and redistribution remain subject to the Steam Web API Terms of Use, the Steam Subscriber Agreement, and any rights held by mod authors. See the Steam data notice before distributing or using the data. No mod binaries are included or executed.
