Learner profiles could be replaced with the text from the pretix?
Anyone who is working with / planning to work with light microscopy data as part of their research.
No prior computational or image analysis experience is required or assumed, but you will get more out of the course if you know some basic Python (e.g. from a previous python Software Carpentry course).
After attending this workshop you will be able to:
- Open and manipulate light microscopy images in napari
- Understand the structure of image data e.g. pixel values, dimensions, bit depth…
- Read image metadata with Python
- Install napari plugins
- Create image histograms, and adjust image display in napari
- Open and navigate multi-dimensional images (e.g. 3D, time series, multi-channel)
- Explain the pros and cons of common image file formats
- Describe the key steps in designing a light microscopy experiment and choosing acquisition settings
- Segment cells / nuclei in napari with manual and automated methods
- Make measurements from segmented features and export them for further analysis
