Summary of major changes:

• Gravity-wave drag overhaul: Adds direction-dependent critical-level filtering, source-specific upper-boundary pressures, dynamic convective/frontal forcing, improved orographic handling, conservation fixers, and extensive east/west momentum- and energy-flux diagnostics.
• Convection updates: Retunes Grell–Freitas deep, mid-level, and shallow convection; allows plume coexistence; adds separate entrainment/detrainment and precipitation-efficiency controls; improves land/ocean triggers and mixed-phase autoconversion.
• Cloud microphysics and macrophysics: Introduces configurable RH-criticality profiles, revised liquid/ice partitioning, phase-aware evaporation/sublimation and melting/freezing, maximum-random cloud overlap, new effective-radius closures, and additional aerosol/cloud-number diagnostics.
• Aerosol activation: Adds explicit ice-friendly aerosol/INP diagnostics, unit conversions, aerosol-number scaling and bounds, and separate land/ocean ice-nuclei defaults.
• PBL/turbulence and coupling: Adds a regime-aware Richardson PBL diagnostic, revised shallow-convection scaling, smoother SHOC stability treatment, and a stable 300-m wind/inversion diagnostic used by GWD.
• Interface and configuration changes: Updates MAPL imports/exports, resource defaults, namelist options, and diagnostic fields across the physics components.
