This app is packed with advanced features designed to make managing your finances as frictionless as possible. Here is a breakdown of what it can do and how to use it:
How it works: Instead of dumping all your expenses into one massive list, you can separate your finances into isolated "Books". How to use:
- Open the app and tap the Book Name at the very top of the Home Screen.
- Tap the
+icon to create a new Book (e.g., "Personal Finances 2026" or "Bali Trip"). - You can switch between Books at any time. When a book is no longer needed, swipe to archive it so it doesn't clutter your view!
How it works: The Add Expense sheet lets you input large expenses, or break them down into granular items (sub-expenses) with individual quantities. How to use:
- Tap the massive
+button on the Home Screen. - Enter the total amount, or skip the total and start adding Sub-Expenses below.
- For each sub-expense (e.g., "Milk"), you can set a specific quantity using the capsule selector, and the app will mathematically calculate your grand total for you!
- Select a category and hit Save.
How it works: Built using advanced on-device Text Recognition, the app can read standard receipts and automatically convert them into Expense Reports. (Note: This feature is currently experimental and accuracy may vary depending on lighting and receipt format). How to use:
- Take a photo of a receipt using your phone's camera.
- Share that photo from your gallery directly to the AR Expense Tracker app.
- The app will open, scan the image locally, identify the line items, and instantly fill out the Add Expense sheet for you!
How it works: Get a visual breakdown of exactly where your money is going with dynamic pie charts and custom category budgets. How to use:
- Tap the Insights icon on the bottom navigation bar.
- View your beautifully animated pie chart to see your highest spending categories.
- Tap Manage Budgets to assign a maximum spending limit to a specific category (e.g., "Limit 'Food' to ₹5,000").
- The Insights screen will visually show you how close you are to hitting your limit.
How it works: If you pay rent or a Netflix subscription every month, the app can automatically add that expense for you on a set schedule. How to use:
- Go to Settings > Manage Recurring Expenses.
- Add a new recurring bill, set the amount, and choose the frequency (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly).
- The app will seamlessly inject this expense into your active Book exactly when it's due.
How it works: Never lose your financial data. The app connects to your personal Google Drive to safely backup your SQLite database. How to use:
- Go to Settings and tap the Sync button.
- Sign in with your Google account.
- The app will automatically sync your data to the cloud in the background whenever you make changes. You can even see exactly how much Drive space the app is consuming!
How it works: You don't need an App Store to get the latest features. The app talks directly to GitHub to check for updates. How to use:
- Whenever a new release is pushed to GitHub, simply open the app.
- A dialog box will automatically appear asking if you want to install the new update.
- Tap "Update Now" to be taken directly to the latest download!
