Tina Blog - Giscus with reactions only or reactions + comments?

Hey All,

We’re planning to add Giscus to the Tina Blog (similar to what we have on https://www.ssw.com.au/rules/) to gather user feedback.

Before deploying to Production, we’d love to hear your thoughts:

• Should we enable only reactions? Preview it at Giscus with only reactions
• Or should we include the comments section as well? Preview it at Giscus with reactions + comments

Limiting ourselves to reactions only, is also severely limiting the feedback that we could get from the community.

There is a much higher chance of engagement by including comments.

I'm interested to here why this is even a discussion. Why would we want to EXCLUDE comments?

I was going to ask the same thing... is there any info for why we'd not have wanted comments? Maybe I'm missing something important... currently voted for both not knowing why potentially not 🙂

It could be a content content safety issue. Maybe we're worried about the comments devolving into name calling/threats etc.

I think having comments is a good idea as long as there's some degree of content moderation (it could be implemented using an Azure AI service as a filter or through manual moderation).
