Exercise 3: Intelligent Platform (⭐⭐⭐ Hard - 60 minutes)

🎯 Objective

Build a complete self-managing intelligent platform that combines all previous agents (CI/CD, Security, Infrastructure) into a unified system that thinks, learns, and evolves autonomously.

🧠 What You'll Learn

  • Multi-agent orchestration at scale
  • Self-healing infrastructure patterns
  • Predictive operations using AI
  • Autonomous decision making
  • Platform evolution and learning
  • Cost optimization automation
  • Full-stack observability
  • Enterprise-grade resilience

📋 Prerequisites

  • Completed Exercises 1 & 2
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Understanding of microservices architecture

📚 Background

An Intelligent Platform represents the pinnacle of Agentic DevOps - a fully autonomous system that:

  • Self-Manages: Makes decisions without human intervention
  • Self-Heals: Fixes problems before they impact users
  • Self-Optimizes: Continuously improves performance and cost
  • Self-Secures: Adapts to threats in real-time
  • Self-Evolves: Learns and improves from experience

🛠️ Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Create the Platform Brain

Copilot Prompt Suggestion:

# Create an intelligent platform orchestrator that:
# - Coordinates multiple specialized agents
# - Makes autonomous decisions based on platform state
# - Learns from operational patterns
# - Predicts and prevents issues
# - Optimizes for multiple objectives (performance, cost, security)
# - Implements self-evolution capabilities
# Use advanced AI techniques and distributed systems patterns

  1. Configure Kubernetes (if using):
# Create namespace
kubectl create namespace intelligent-platform

# Apply RBAC
kubectl apply -f k8s/rbac.yaml

# Deploy platform components
kubectl apply -f k8s/
  1. Run the Intelligent Platform:
# Export required environment variables
export OPENAI_API_KEY="your-api-key"
export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY="your-api-key" # Optional

# Start the platform
python main_platform.py --demo

# In another terminal, open the dashboard
open dashboard/intelligent_platform.html
  1. Test the platform:
# Check platform health
curl http://localhost:8002/health

# Get platform state
curl http://localhost:8002/state

# View agent status
curl http://localhost:8002/agents

# Get insights
curl http://localhost:8002/insights

# View dashboard
curl http://localhost:8002/dashboard
