Thanks for the work on media-elements and media-chrome, they're great to use. We'd like to use the MuxPlayer with our own HLS streams. This seems supported from this note in the docs and works great from some initial testing. This Mux Player FAQ question doesn't rule it out, but isn't a definitive yes. Is there an official stance on current/ongoing support for this? Thanks! |

Hey Mux team, just wondering if you had a response on the above? Getting a steer on continued support for third-party HLS stream would help us proceed with our migration to Mux. Any info much would be much appreciated, thank you! |

Hi @vimto, it isn't officially supported but it will very likely keep working, we use hls.js under the hood so everything that hls.js plays should be playbable by Mux player. However we can't offer full support as in to fixing issues that are specific to the 3rd party HLS playlists. There is also the option to use the hls-video media element and media-chrome with a player.style theme. Gumlet is a great example that uses this approach, https://play.gumlet.io/embed/6685517070a16ee4eb1f321c |

That will get you very far and gives you more control on the underlying components.
