The published release notes for v2.0.0rc1 (https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/python-sdk/releases/tag/v2.0.0rc1) have this under Notes:
The tasks extension (SEP-2663) is not in this release, and will not be in v2.0.0; <WHERE>.
Looks like a template placeholder that was meant to say where tasks support will land (the extension repo? a 2.x minor?). Noticed it while migrating a server to the RC today. Would be worth fixing before the stable release notes reuse the wording.
