Isnt this functionally the same as adding a video to a playlist named "Favorites" ? |
|
Yeah, probably the same as #1710, which can also be achieved by creating a playlist for it. The question is whether it's worth it to add extra options that automatically add things t your favorites playlist (e.g. a heart button), but likely not worth it. |

To add my two cents as a user, the manual adding to a playlist does still feel like a workaround. "Watch Later" and "Liked Videos" from YouTube are by far my most used playlists, so not having them with default functionality hinders the way I use this app. For example, one of the things I like to do in LibreTube is add videos to a Watch Later playlist. My original setup was having a playlist called "Watch Later" and add that manually to it. The problem is that I have other playlists, so I always have to scroll to get to it (unless if I end up adding multiple things to "Watch Later" in a single session, which isnt usually the case). Now my setup is the following: change the default ordering of playlists to "Alphabetical" and update the watch later playlist to have a "_", so it's the first on list. Then I don't have to scroll for it when I go to add it to a playlist. However, when it comes to the liked videos, now I feel back at square one. I can do the same thing, but it really ends up being more button presses then I would prefer to get a similar outcome. This is especially true for a "Liked" playlist, as that is something that should be more passive for the user to add videos to. |
Uh oh!

I really miss the ability to click on a heart and add a track to my favorites. This feature is available in apps like Metrolist, OuterTune, and SimpMusic.
