Summary

This PR adds a packageRules configuration to group all non-major dependency updates, enabling more efficient management of minor and patch updates with high confidence.

Changes

• Configured packageRules to:
  • groupName: "all non-major dependencies" - groups dependencies with minor or patch updates.
  • groupSlug: "all-minor-patch" - unique identifier for the group.
  • matchPackageNames: [*] - includes all dependencies.
  • matchUpdateTypes: "minor" and "patch" - limits to non-major updates.
  • matchConfidence: "very high" and "high" - includes updates with high confidence.

Purpose

This configuration streamlines the update process by grouping non-breaking changes, reducing the need to review individual updates while keeping dependencies current and stable.

Follow-up: narrowed the rc2 direct-mode failure to Address-typed contract loading.

Environment:

• Ubuntu 24.04 under WSL
• Python 3.12.3
• genlayer-test 0.30.0rc2
• genlayer-py 0.19.0rc2
• Fresh GenVM bundle download after clearing the prior bundle cache

Minimal reproducer (fails before the constructor executes):

Test invocation:

Result: 1 failed. The failure occurs while importing the contract, at the GenLayer runtime message decoder, before constructor execution:

genlayer.py.calldata.DecodingError: unexpected end of memory
ImportError: Failed to load contract: unexpected end of memory

The real project Governor reproduces the same failure under the same fresh rc2 environment. Its traceback also ends in the empty stdin/message decode path with the same DecodingError while importing contracts/governor.py.

This rules out Governor size, method count, DynArray, and overall contract complexity as the primary trigger: the minimal two-Address-argument contract is sufficient. The project previously worked under the stable 0.29.2 / 0.16.3 pairing; I did not reproduce this failure there.
