Hi ArviZ maintainers 👋,
I’ve been slowly exploring the Matplotlib density plotting code while getting familiar with the codebase.
While reading
arviz/plots/backends/matplotlib/densityplot.py, I noticed the internal helper function_d_helper. From its parameters, it seems to primarily handle styling- and presentation-related logic for density plots.I was wondering whether renaming this helper to something more descriptive (for example, indicating its role in preparing/applying density plot styles) could improve readability and make the plotting flow easier to follow for new contributors.
This is just an observation from a beginner’s perspective — I’d love to hear your thoughts or guidance on whether this aligns with current refactoring plans.
Thanks for maintaining ArviZ!
