Hi OpenMind team,
I’m currently working on a hardware integration project for a Unitree G1, where we want to add two external cameras, one on each wrist, and connect them to the robot through a powered USB hub.
I found the 4 Port USB 3.2 Gen 1 Micro Powered Hub PCBA referenced in the BrainPack materials, and I wanted to ask whether this exact hub was used as part of the BrainPack integration, and specifically whether it has been tested or adapted on a Unitree G1.
Our proposed architecture is to connect the hub’s upstream USB port to the G1’s USB-C port #9 for data communication, while powering the hub from the G1’s auxiliary 12 V output. Two downstream USB 3.x ports would then be used for the left and right wrist cameras.
We are mainly trying to confirm whether this architecture is electrically and functionally suitable for the G1, and whether you encountered any issues related to power stability, USB bandwidth, backfeeding, cable routing, or simultaneous operation of multiple cameras.
If you tested this hub or a similar setup on the G1, we would really appreciate any recommendations on wiring, power connection, or things we should validate before installing it on the robot.
Thank you for your help.
